About The City NFT Project

The City Project is a series of street photography collections minted on the Ethereum blockchain. Most importantly, the project is an unforgettable journey through my lens as I uncover everyday plots and emotions floating around New York City. Each collection invites the viewer to join my intimate viewpoint of the megalopolis experience with a unique eye for visual storytelling. You can smell the asphalt and feel its texture through each photograph. The characters jump out of the frames with narratives so vivid and extraordinary yet completely relatable and familiar. So much so that you feel as though you are being sucked into the scenes, thus becoming another actor in the play.

You are welcome to navigate thru each of the collections and stay tuned for new chapters developing soon…

City

“You ask too many questions!”

An expression I heard all too often when I was a child. My curiosity and eagerness to absorb the world around me seemed to annoy the adults in my life. Perhaps they were right, and I was indeed annoying. But the thing is that curiosity never left me, and still today I’m left with more questions than answers when I look around.

My camera has become the repository of the questions, riddles, and enigmas of my life. My photographs are an estuary where thoughts meet observations in the quest for answers. The city, the streets, and the people are my richest source of wisdom. Strangers’ stories enter through my lens and jump-start my neural network into overdrive.

Occasionally, I open the valve and release them back into the world to relieve the pressure they build in my mind.

City-TEXTURED

The City is engraved in its inhabitants, who in turn engrave themselves unto each other, not knowing how, when, or why. Identities disappear, dissipate and dilute into the roaring crowd. One question clouds my mind as I stand still observing through my camera’s big wide eye: Will it swallow me whole? Will we become one? One more tag on the wall? One more chewing gum on the ground, stepped on by the weight of the mass, becoming thus the texture of every day, of everyone?

City-Dads

As I roam the City streets, with my camera in hand, I find myself lost on this concrete playground. Everything is so big, larger than life. And in a snap, I am once again a child. Playful and unstoppable, just like when I played superheroes.

Yet, at the same time, I feel so vulnerable and scared inside. Afraid of stumbling upon a demon in some unforeseen corner of my mind. Then, I remember your figure, I can see you all around. Your melodic voice and gregarious smile. But it is just a mirage. You are back home, and I am a grown man, capable of facing the world on his own. Still, if you only knew how much I wish you were here, to play with me, to protect me, or just to be by my side right now…Dad.

City-Contours

All of life is intertwined in the asphalt-paved streets—lively waltzing in the open air. Skyscrapers reach up towards the golden sun. The bouncing light on their windows leaves behind darkened figures traced on the City walls
